I agree - I come from a council house background but went to university and have a professional job and a decent life... I also work with middle class people with decent uni degree's etc, etc so,...
who has done better now - as it was expected that they would go to uni and end up doing this kind of career, whereas I (and this has happened to a fair few peers from school as I see on facebook) to end up as shop assistants etc (no offence to them tho)...

I saw some sketch on a tv program (think it was fictional and it wasn't monty python..! but thinking about it further it may have been real) - and there was a country pub where there was a lord, a farm worker and a middleclass  guy... the lord and the farmer worker got on famously as they had no pretentiousness between themselves.. whereas the middleclass guy got ignored as he sucked up to the lord, and looked down of the farm worker...
