I'm Probably missing the obvious, but I'm not sure what CAGED references?

Good call on the B7 bar though, thanks. I play them without even thinking about the names half the time, so it's good to remind yourself where everything is every now and then. Knowing that's half the battle.

For anyone with an iDevice, there's a decent little app by David Mead that does lessons and exercises on CAGED.

David Mead : CAGED on the App Store on iTunes

A long time ago I was shown the E and A shape barres.
Sliding the E shape up in steps to the 5th fret gets F, F#, G, Ab, A.
Then the A  shape to the 6th gets Bb, B, C, C# D, Eb.
That covers a huge major vocabulary already.
The flatten the pinky finger one fret and you have the set of minors, forward one, the sus4 (?)
This is as far as my memory goes, but the picture is painted.

well as far as I know the B7 I'm doing is the correct B7...as I say I got to grips with it quite quickly....not saying my changes are quick and clean though !

apparently the common changes for a B7 from E maj and a G...hence I thought I'd have a crack at stand by me by oasis.....but as I mentioned the C D F one quick strum  of each is another story !

funnily enough the one quick change that gives me the most grief is a pretty easy G to E minor and back again....I can do it back and forth all day but try it in 'these boots are made for walking' and it my little finger rarely sits right on the first string after 1 change...probably thinking about too much

saw the Strypes last night .....never really pay attention to bass players much but his fingers were a blur

...they might look like the school band but dem boys can play
