After some research I got this one from Amazon.

Ashton GS53 Heavy Duty Guitar Stand - Holds Up To 3 Guitars: Amazon.co.uk: Musical Instruments

It's easy to build, sturdy construction and the upright can be tilted to suit the guitars. With hindsight I should have gone for the 5 rack.

Thanks. The dimensions in cm are 52W x 48D x 65H.
I forgot to mention it's also telescopic in height. I have it set at 65H but the range is probably 50-75.

cheers..

the crafter sounds pretty loud...like its already plugged into an amp
but was thinking about getting a little amp a bit later on...see what it brings to the table so to speak

seen a few little acoustic ones
liked the look of this one :
Behringer Ultracoustic AT108 Acoustic Combo Amp | Musician's Friend

or :
Fender Acoustasonic 15 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp at Gear4Music.com

or theres a 'stagg' one
Stagg 20 Watt Acoustic Guitar Amplifier

Please note my correction to the dimensions I posted earlier.

I can just visualize your Crafter stood next to any one of those brown/beige cabinets.

Just to throw a spanner in the work, the line input on the Stagg would be a great feature for playing alongside backing a track. Also reverb.

thanks...that backing track site is good !...might be a seller for an input

Yeah seems to be a lot of positive feedback on the stagg too... The line input would be handy.

though I see the behringer has a CD input...though no reverb

..and the fender has 'chorus' but no cd/mp3 input

Today spurred on by Rob Chapman's new guitar tuition vids, I took a closer look at the minor pentatonic scale shapes.

I learned the first shape some weeks ago and I am quiet fluent, capable of cobbling together a bit of improvisation within that shape. I had been a bit daunted by the other four shapes, thinking it may add nothing apart from confusion.

To my surprise I found them rather easy to learn, I had them in the bag within an hour.

I'm now having fun in my new found freedom, linking the shapes together and working up and down the neck.

It's still very much work in progress but it seems to be another one of those light bulb moments for me.

Edit:
Adding to this I came across this clip which shows an extended version of the Am pentatonic scale (1min:30).

I'm loving this as a finger exercise and a link to go up and down the five scale shapes, so much so I drew it out and thought I would share. The yellow notes are within the scale so typically I go from open E right up to the A note at e20 and back, finishing with a run back up to the A note on E5. A proud and satisfying achievement at this stage of the game.
