George R R Martin stated in his  "Not A Blog," that  'Winds of Winter' will not be published any time soon after a lot of fans started the rumour that the latest book will be ready for Christmas, etc.etc.

"The announcement will be straightforward and to the point. I won't time it to coincide with Xmas or Valentine's Day or Lincoln's Birthday, the book will not rise from the dead with Jesus on Easter Sunday. When it is done, I will say that it is done, on whatever day I happen to finish"

To the point I would say and typical of George R R Martin, nobody will tell him when, what or where!  Turning into a bit of a Diva?

Not really, consistent with how he's always been no?  He must be feeling the pressure of success though!

You're right it is  how he has always been, more or less, but since Game of Thrones have come out he seems to have added an extra layer of 'divaness'.

I don't care how long he takes, as long as it is good. I am used to waiting, having persevered with The Dark Tower.  I got The World of Ice and Fire for Christmas and that will tide me over, for a little while at least.

Well at least we know from Parks and Rec that "Khaleesi is marrying Jack Sparrow" in the 2017 series finale
