Are e-readers still too underdeveloped to be worthwhile?

I ordered one last night. I'm going away for a few weeks and I want to load it up with books first. Any worth reading at the moment?

Best to avoid these new writers and see if they become established IMO

I see there is actually a reviewer on the Amazon page complaining about the price
