Been looking into some track 'training' at Thruxton (as it's not too far away for me). I fancy having some proper instruction and a drive in a Ferrari is one option (though you don't get too many laps). When I get my RS2000 back on the road I hope to take it on a track at least once before I sell it, so a nearby one such as Thruxton would be good, especially if I've had some training on the right lines, etc. Then the following year I'll go back in the TVR if I manage to find a good one.

I've not seen much information about Thruxton though, just thought it would be cheaper than Brands Hatch or Silverstone (which are a little further away, but not too far). I just wondered what people thought of Thruxton?

Been a boring week driving on public road in a diesel Audi...

PS. Hope the R888s do the job.

Some nice driving there lovegroova the S2000 seems to be going well!

I done Anglesey last year and I concur it's a really scenic trackday and very enjoyable. That right hander you were refering to is a tricky one, almost ran out of road there on one lap!

Spa was awesome as always. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, a bit of cloud on Monday morning, other than that, sunny and very hot.

I managed around 500 track miles over the two days, everyone who likes driving should drive Spa.

Here's a video, including FootCam ©

Looks a lovely track that one. Might be a bit fast for my RS2000, but [-]if[/-] when I get my TVR Chimaera it might be a good one to take it to. I noticed the usual Caterham overtake in there, but at least you got past a Porsche and an Exige (I think) so well done on that (I only passed one car at Angelsey this year and I reckon it was on a cool down lap anyway ).

Loved the footcam as well, nice heeling and toeing. People must think I'm crackers, but I practice H&T in my diesel Audi to keep my hand in.

Thanks for the kind words - it's an awesome track - the video does not do the gradients justice.

Will have a watch of the video later. I am off there early Oct for a trackday, can't wait. Have done a few pax laps before but never driven it.

Managed a great day @ Rocky last Friday. Car worked well for once (diff now sorted with a breather). With the track running the opposite way to most UK tracks, it was a bit of a tyre killer.

No video as I was having to much fun & enjoying much needed bum in seat time

Just don't try left foot braking,as it'll put it in safe mode!

How does the car know which foot you're using

If you have your foot on both brake and accelerator at the same time, the ECU senses the load as a fault and puts the car into limp mode.

There are a few threads on some of the VAG forums about this, but it's not just a VAG thing as Citroens and others do the same.

Really thwarts anyone trying it.

I can confirm that the Honda does not do that, as with my fancy brakepads I usually do a gentle left foot brake to warm them up quicker on cold mornings.

Got to love the relative simplicity of older cars..
