BMW Sat Nav Slow Responses. FYI & Comments

I have the verification code but there has not been an opportunity to enter it.  I realise its central importance but how do I get to the point where I can enter it?  Incidentally, the unit has lost all my saved radio stations and the pairing with my mobile - neither of which can be reset as the unit is still cycling on and off.....

Doesn’t sound good. That sounds like a hardware issue.

Have you tried a reboot / restart? I think it is the volume button and another held down together.

Thanks for responding.  I've tried holding volume and eject but this has no effect.  If these are the correct buttons, how long do they have to be held for? Has anyone else any ideas for performing a reset?  I've a 2013 5 series touring.  Thanks.

Hello.  I have a related issue.  F30 330e, 2016 model.  I updated the map from 2016-1 to the version available on the BMW website, 2018-1.  Curious, as I'm reading that 2018-2 is available.  Although I was sent a verification code, I wasn't asked for it when the software was installed from the USB stick.  Since then it sometimes works OK and sometimes not.  Whenever I turn on the Nav, there is a page showing 'starting' (which I hadn't seen before).  Sometimes this lasts a minute or so before the map appears. Yesterday it lasted 10 minutes and then the whole connected drive system appeared to reboot, and the nav worked.  Later yesterday the 'starting' picture lasted the entire 30 minute journey.  Should it have asked for the verification code?  Should 2018-2 be available and if so why wasn't I offered it?  Puzzled!

Sounds more like an iDrive issue.

OK thank you.  I don't have RTTI; I wonder whether that was why I wasn't offered the latest nav map 2018-2.

I updated to Europe West 2019-1 maps a few months ago. But I don’t think your issue is maps related of the iDrive is rebooting itself.

Thank you.  How do I get the 2019 map?  I downloaded the map yesterday and it was the 2018-1 version.

Go on the BMW forum and somebody usually has a torrent for the maps.

I have the CIC Europe west Premium 2019-2 maps torrent if you have CIC iDrive which I don’t think you do?

You may also need the FSC activation code depending on your subscription.
