It will need to wait to i get the report as whilst he did explain them to me i couldn't tell you what the parts are called etc or even what they all are. Besides my mind pretty much wiped the rest when he mentioned this.

Brake pipe where changed have not been supported correctly, as a result they are moving and rubbing against the underside of the vehicle, as is always the case they have found a nice sharp corner to rub against, this already dented the pipe and started to cut through (hence don't drive)

The brake pipe that has been replaced doesn't take the correct route but instead goes all over the place so is longer than it should be and is making the movement worse due to the lack of supports.

Where they have sprayed the new brake pipe section (they have cut out the corroded part and joined in a new section) with black paint, they have also sprayed the old left pipework so as it looks like it is all new at a glance. He also said it was the 1st dealership that he had ever come across that sprayed replacement brake pipes... Kind of makes sense when your replacing a part section not full length...

It was quite a list, but the knowledge that i could have a brake failure kind of took my attention! I can vaguely remember the rest, but i would rather wait to i have the report as i could be wrong on them.

Edit
And you lot do (rightfully) quiz me on them

It's still on going and is likely to be for a good few more months yet.

I've been advised by the lawyer to not post any more details on here until it has been resolved though. Then depending on the settlement I will happily update

Just a quick update if anyone is still interested

The Letter before action went in about a month back for Breach of Contract and Negligence which produced the expected reply (when it finally came) of go to hell. So the forms are currently being draft to take the matter to court.

The lawyer was surprised that they didn't make a settlement offer, but as they have denied any wrong doing from the start I always knew this would end up in court.

Its taken so long to get here as the first 5 months were spent trying to get documentation of them which ended up with needing to bring a pre-action hearing against them (which I lost), but that's ok as they can now not suddenly find some "evidence" that backs up there case when its heard in court. The case will be heard on all the documentation that I currently have a copy of and that is it.

Another update as it has been 4 months

Court papers have been served and acknowledge by the dealership lawyers, and they have filed and submitted their defence which remains a flat denial of any wrongdoing, threats to seek costs from me when they win, demands to drop the case at once, accusations of my lawyer acting in an unprofessional manner, etc etc. Pretty much a repeat of every letter received from them.

Currently drafting a response to there defence (or rather the barrister is) then it will be back to the courts for them to issue directions as to how things moved forward. Hoping that in another 3 months or so I will get a court date, and then a couple of months after that will be the actual hearing, so another 5 plus months to go to it is all resolved one way or another but could well be longer.

One's thing for sure and that is that I will be going to court, neither side is prepared to move on their position so unless the court gives directions that might change things (having read the papers the court advises that X revisits there position etc), off to court we will go.

A number of years ago I had a Fiesta that went into a main dealer for a repair under warranty and a service. The cylinder head gasket had gone.

Went in 2 days later, paid the fee for the service, started it up and knew it didn't sound right. In order to get the car breathing a bit better with the gasket gone, to get it around the corner to the dealership I had removed the air filter.
Opened it up and no air filter.

They'd fixed the head gasket, changed the oil but done sod all else as part of the service and charged me for it as was confirmed by the fuel filter, dirty spark plugs etc.
