I haven't read Little Women. I didn't even know what it was about until I came around this. I've read many reviews and realised that the reason why most people disliked the series is that they kept comparing it to the book.
In itself, this series is beautiful! Is has very good, believable acting, gorgeous cinematography, appealing characters and an overall good story.
I didn't care for the way they decided to wrap up the story - Jo ends up married with kids, settles for a quiet life? Laurie marries Amy? What? Though I guess this was the author's decision, and not the director's.
And I wouldn't have believed that Amy was supposed to be 13 had I not read it in the reviews, therefore, her childish behavior seemed very out of place when I watched this.
Also, what's up with the 3rd chapter??? There wasn't room for much on screen character development, the audience had to guess it because time had passed basically, which I thought was a weird decision.
Still, overall, this was good and enjoyable. Why comparing?
