Cheeky!

Actually, I forgot to say something in my match summary of the Cockwomble Special: I've never played any sport at the highest level, just League, but I used to play Cricket as a kid and you always know when you've touched the ball.

And I know that winning is important, but not at any cost, not to me. So why did Joe Root just stand there when there was a feather down the leg side? I don't like it when this happens. LBW's deserve to go to review as it's not always cut and dried. Same with catches at slip and whether they've carried.

But a nick off the bat or glove? You know and you should walk, it shouldn't have to go to review.

Talking of cockwombles, I see England are at it again. Soon as Root got out, I switched to daytime TV. Not watching Australia roll us over yet again, seen it too many times.

Pakistan/South Africa: superb innings from Haris, but South Africa have just never got going and their attack looks like a shadow of their former selves without Philander and Steyn.

I still think Pakistan have given themselves too much to do to reach the last four and their fielding was woeful. Saving runs as well as taking catches is everything in the one-day format.

England bat deep, Rome, they should be able to chase down 285 as that's about 20 runs short?

So, rather like the English football team, do rather well in friendlies, tour matches etc.  Yet, when it come to the crunch, the others bring their A games. Leaving their B games to said tour games.

Oh, okay, maybe they won't!

According to the Channel 4 highlights team, England are/were pre-tournament favorites! Um, why?

I suppose anything can happen in a one-day game and they still might, but I'll still go with an India/Australia final.

Probably because they were the number 1 ranked ODI team pre tournament. I’d say they are too aggressive with the bat and they need to replace Roy with someone better than Vince. Ali is just giving his wicket away these days too. Not enough length deliveries by England on that track although Australia were lucky not to concede early on especially by Woakes.
