Ferrer does not match up well against Nole at all, and had that long 5-set match with Almagro. The winner of this gets an extra days rest than the other finalist which would be nice for them after the ridiculous USO scheduling last September. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Novak showed no sign of fatigue vs Berdych, but Ferrer has beaten Nadal here.
Federer vs Murray should be a great match. Murray is probably the favourite but Federer hasn't had an overly taxing match in the tournament yet, his 5 set match with Tsonga today was 3 hours and 34 minutes which is less than you'd expect (Djokovic vs Wawrinka was 5 hours and 2 minutes). There's also case to suggest that a competitive match helps. Federer vs Benneateau at Wimbledon (he was 2 sets down and 5-4 down in the third set tiebreak) did him no harm.
I expect Federer to win as he's never lost to Murray in a Slam, beat him in their last meeting at the O2 and seems as fit as ever. |
