Not a clue mate, perhaps take it to a club pro to have a look...

It's a good hard rattle, I'm gonna heat it up and see if that works.

Not really wanting to spend any money on it, infact if I don't get it fixed I'm willing to give it away in here and whoever gets it can fix it if they want.

Wet towel round the hosel in that case and heat the toe end.

It's quite often just a piece of epoxy that's come loose, melting it and letting it reset on the inner wall of the head usually does the trick.

I went for another 9 holes last night and did a bit better. Managed a couple of pars but still a lot of room for improvement - but then again there always will be

How are you all doing?

I am glad things are getting better

After last weeks debacle I decided to video my swing. The first thing I noticed was a very cupped left wrist at the top of my backswing.

I then realised that this was caused by a very strong left hand grip, 4 knuckles showing. I weakened my left hand (the thumb more on top of the shaft) so that I could see only 2 knuckles and straight away my backswing position looked much better.

Unfortunately I won't be able to hit any balls until Monday and from past history, I know that any major grip change takes a bit of getting used to.

I actually did a proper comparison of my 2 scorecards and realised I was 6 shots better for the 2nd visit so very chuffed about that

I realise I might well go 10 shots worse the next time though

Grip changes are most definitely the most alien feeling.

I was the opposite years ago, when i first took up the game, i had only one knuckle showing on the left hand. Changed it to two knuckles visible on the basis of someone's advice, a scratch county golfer. And it helped obviously, but i eventually settled on two and a half knuckles visible. Which is right on the line really for correct/incorrect

I went for 2 full rounds on Monday and Tuesday and whilst I got a birdie and a couple of pars I found I'd lost my swing - I wasn't swinging properly even when I was hitting straight shots. I worked on this at the range last night and I think I'm getting back on track again.

I also had major problems keeping focussed and keeping my mind on the shots and the game but hopefully that will improve with time. I found myself half way through a tee shot and hearing all the birdsong and naming the bird whilst I was swinging

Another problem I had, and I'm not sure if I should mention this to my mate or not... I found that I was getting wound up and annoyed following him on the tee due to the amount of "farting about" he was doing on the tee before his shot. He seemed to take longer and longer and I was getting more and more frustrated and so when I stepped up to the tee, my head was totally gone! I don't know if I should mention this to him, because in the round last week he didn't do this and he played a lot better and so did I But I don't want to upset him either.
