The three most compelling pieces of evidence were completely ignored. You can argue all you want that, based on what you saw in this series, he didn't receive a fair trial or was "convicted by the media" but you'd be fooling yourself. The jury had more information than the media ever did.

First, as others have pointed out, Scott had already told Amber that he'd "lost" Laci. Laci was a month away from giving birth. How was Scott going to get around that? He'd started planning a future with Amber - how was he going to manage that? If he proceeded to divorce Laci, he'd still have his baby to contend with whether that be in the form of visitation, child support payments, or even brief discussions with Laci to discuss care plans. Once that baby was born, he'd be tied to Laci whether he wanted to be or not so his only choice would be to come clean with Amber. Do you think Amber would have stayed with him after learning he'd not only lied about being married but also about his wife's death? Do you think Scott was willing to take that chance knowing he wasn't even willing to come clean to her when he was at a vigil for his missing wife and unborn son?

But even more importantly - perhaps most importantly - witnesses testified that the night before Laci's disappearance, Scott said he intended to go golfing the next morning. In fact, when first questioned by police, his alibi WAS that he had been golfing - an attempt to separate himself from the marina and the body of water in which her & Conner's bodies would eventually be discovered. When he was placed at the marina by the police, he confessed that he'd made the last-minute decision THAT morning to go fishing. BUT on December 20th - four days before the disappearance - he purchased a 2-day fishing license good for the 23rd and 24th only. So until the morning of the 24th, he had every intention of golfing but, on a whim, decided to go fishing instead, using the conveniently pre-purchased fishing license he'd obtained 4 days prior for ONLY two days, one of which just happened to be this day. Then he drove three hours to the marina, fished for an hour, and drove three hours back. On Christmas Eve. And then lied to police about it.

The witness sightings were also proven false or mistaken. Police received more than 80 tips regarding sightings of Laci in various areas around the city the morning she went missing. Clearly, 80 people did not see Laci that morning. The "witnesses" featured in this tripe of a series either couldn't recall the actual day they saw her and/or got the weather conditions wrong when describing their sighting. They were, in fact, so unreliable, that the defense declined to call even one of them to the stand. But now they're credible enough to be interviewed for this series??

This doesn't even TOUCH the other evidence regarding the missing cement, the anchors, Scott showing up at the marina in various rental cars to watch the police investigation, Laci's DNA being found on a boat she didn't even know about, and Scott being found near the border with dyed hair & a large sum of cash in his car.

Shame on you A&E. Do better.
