Crichton kept another Jurassic series for all these years since I was young. After reading the novels 8 and 5 times I can finally get my awnser . John Hammond almost planned a camp in the novel by it never happened. I think the novels share the connections. Dinosaurs roaming free again and kids escaping dinosaurs just like the first book .
