Ted Neeley will always be the ultimate Jesus Christ Superstar - what a voice - and his "I only want to say" is a heart-breaker. His high notes are powerful and exciting, and they come at just the right moment for ultimate effect. I saw him play this part live on stage twice, and he totally owns this role. He is passionate and compassionate, yet his anger is truly explosive! There are so many memorable songs in this musical, and all performed with intensity, by very talented performers. The costumes are fun too - especially the flared pants and the fringes. The fight(songs) between Jesus & Judas are very moving. King Herod's scene is a blast - and has never been improved upon in other productions. The music of Andrew Lloyd Webber is timeless - it is as fresh today as when it was first written. I'll never be tired of watching this movie, and hearing this great music.
