Yeah, that site is really funny. I had heard that it had been taken down but it seems like it is still up. I can't believe Bethesda's lawyers will let it continue indefinitely.

I just don't know what Bethesda are thinking atm. First off creating a subscription model for a game that has been received fairly poorly and still apparently has some fairly large issues seems pretty ballsy. That's certainly been enough to scare me off trying the game now. But then to release it in such a broken state is... well it's typical Bethesda at this point I guess, but after the dumpster fire that was the FO76 launch to have pretty much nothing working as customers for this subscription service would expect is just so BAD!!

Like I mentioned above, I was starting to consider getting the game, albeit a little ways down the line once Wastelanders is released and modding had been enabled but at this point I'm not sure I want to support this game in any way shape or form.

I can remember the good old days when the worst thing you could say about Bethesda is that they couldn't be bothered to fix their bugs and would let the community do it for them. Still, the games were good.

Makes me long for the days where the worst thing people said about Bethesda was the "Horse Armor" DLC for Oblivion. I suppose the writing was on the wall for scummy MTX practices even back then!

WTH? I had no idea this game was essentially a free 2 play model like ESO . I never would have bought it if I did. I uninstalled ESO very quickly after all the daily sign in reward BS combined with huge limits on what loot you could carry and store and the constant grubbing for purchases.
Looks like a case of fool me twice shame on me

It's still free to play once you've bought the base game. It's just that this premium sub has rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way! The sub itself offers some nice QoL features but that price point is way off point (also some of this was promised at game launch). It's still in my opinion a very good game now and the sub will only apply to the die hard fans. You don't need it. There's a ton of stuff to do and there's more coming for free.

seems to have gone a bit cheaper. Is it worth it now that the noise has calmed after the subscription announcement? 9 quid isn't much but was wondering if folk are still playing and if it is any fun?

I've said it a few times to others here asking. If you enjoyed Fallout 3 or 4 in any form you'll enjoy this. You don't have to be teamed up to get the most out of it. I've pretty much played solo and throughly enjoyed myself. It's a big old world to explore with an interesting story and there's plenty to do. At £9 you'll get your moneys worth.
