The Panasonic G80/G85 is well worth checking out and I really wouldn’t worry about continuous autofocus. It’s leagues ahead of my old LUMIX G6 for example which I expect has similar autofocus to the em5. It’s just video autofocus where it struggles with primes with shallow depth of field and phase detect would really help here.

I’d at least try one out if you really liked the size of the M43 system.

video af for the g85 is crap.
otherwise its an excellent camera.

i'd reccomend. I think a g85   25mm f1.7   42.mm f1.7   12-35mm f2.8   35-100mm f2.8 is possibly the best value setup on the market offering 4k video, full frame dof equivalent to f3.4for primes and the most compact zooms in the game. honestly the size of the 35-100mm is crazy amazing.

my only hesitancy is buying panasonic lens and expecting panny to fix their autofocus flaws in their bodies.

Cheers everyone. I still haven’t made my bloody mind up! It’s now too late to get anything before my holiday on Sunday so I’m just going to have to take longer to think about things and see if I can maybe keep saving a bit longer and look out for a good deal on a D750 or something lol I’m worried anything else isn’t going to cut it, now that I’ve used one for a year and loved it so much :/

I was serious that Im selling mine if you’re interested?

FallOutBoy Publish time 2-12-2019 07:03:48

Yes I may well be, would depend on age, condition etc and price obviously lol I usually prefer to buy new but I may still be interested in some details data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I should be getting it listed this week, but it's in perfect condition (I can't see a mark on it), UK model, not affected by any of the recalls and circa 33,000 shutter count IIRC.

I've had my Pen EP5 for a long time now. Still my go to camera. The size, the quality, it is just perfect to me. I use my favourite 25mm f1.4 for street, the 45mm f1.8 is absolutely brilliant for portraits, well besides the 75mm but value for money it is great...And my 35-100 f2.8 is a staple lense...

My choice would definitely be the Pen F. Especially as it has the build in viewfinder.

Thanks, I did love my e-m5ii when I had it, but then I had a D750 for a year after that and it was such a difference, an improvement in most areas tbh, so I’m worried I wouldn’t be satisfied with an Oly anymore! I think I really need to decide if I need the more compact body and lenses or not, as the D750 really isn’t all that big or heavy for a full frame DSLR. but then I do love those Oly primes; the colours and sharpness were often preferable at times, IMO.

It’s size for me. In order to get the same quality you need big lenses. Walking around with a 24-70 and 70-120 is just getting silly. It embarrassed my children and wife as well.

Sure they are better quality but the size is just silly as a non pro.
