Edit, it's not linking to the specific ISOs for some reason. Here's a screenshot

yeah looks like an awesome camera.

The eye AF = almost a cheat in portrait photography. I watched Manny Ortiz stick the camera outside a car window whilst his wife was sticking her head out of the front and he just kept clicking the shoot button and every still was in focus.

The 10fps makes sports easy AF.

All-round, the Sony gear just seems aimed at trying to help you.

I personally have no hesistancy in regards to investing in Sony glass because Sony seem to be actively improving their bodies year-on-year. I imagine in 10 years time, having 3k worth of Sony glass will feel like a very nice decision compared to 3k of Canon/Nikon at this point. I feel like specifically Sony mirrorless are really going to be game-changers.

I dont get people's rules about glass and camera price. Surely the smart decision is to invest MORE in glass as the glass is what never gets outdated .

My only critique is a lack of articulating screen but no full frame camera has that... they don't even have tilts except the gimped 6kmiii.

this year sony improved:
-colour science
-ergonomics
-auto focus further
-increases lens support
-battery life
-over heating
-clear image zoom

they are listening unlike canon/nikon/panasonic who seem to do what they want.

I'm trying to fight myself from buying one. I have my G85 and don't use it enough. However I think this is partly down to the inflexibility of my current setup. I'm hesistant to buy any more lenses for the panny system as for a m43 casual portable camera, the kit lens   the few primes I do have, seem to have me covered and the extra ££ might be better invested in Sony.

....

the glass is quite expensive though, but the body is probably 1k cheaper than it should be by canon/nikon prices so...

TBH I wouldn't have any hesitancy in investing in Sony glass either,....... if I could afford it data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I think you're forgetting the D750 and D850 data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Sony have been great innovators over the last few years for sure, I have no idea why Canon have waited so long tbh.

Is it though? The A7iii is kind of pitched at the D750 and 6Dii market, both of which are cheaper than the A7iii although granted older and have less bells and whistles. Don't get me wrong, the A7iii is well priced but I wouldn't say it's about a grand cheaper than it would have been. At £3k you would be approaching A7riii and D850 territory and as good as the A7iii is the other two have several trump cards over it. I think it's a first for Sony in that they've priced it right rather than overpricing it data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

On a side note, have you seen the grey price of the A9? Over £1k cheaper than UK. We really do have our pants down at times data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
