Yep. I even checked the code number, in case.
It's drawn a very good map of my route immediately, and you can see some movement within an offline map.

Ive now found that it logs the total distance of steps about 6 hours later but zero distance against any specific exercise.I might recalibrate

steve36 Publish time 2-12-2019 06:29:45

Nope, another 20 minutes and 1.2km and it's decided I've gone 4m.Losing patience with this. Fitbit surge just works (accurately) but is hard to read
It's finally working after 2 hours and connecting it via iPhone for a quick test.
Maybe it needs to be connected to iPhone for first use to get satellite location?

With the original Watch you had to use it with the iPhone until it became calibrated to your stride. You shouldn't need to do that with the Series 2, but it might be worth a try.

How is the calibration one series 1 now?

Is it pretty accurate to what he distance you've run? Would want to track stats of run and not too bothered about it tracking it on a map as long as what it records is accurate.

Just reserved a 42mm series 2 in space grey. Can anyone recommend a decent screen protector, which isn't noticeable when applied?

steve36 Publish time 2-12-2019 06:29:49

Another try - after yet another 60 minutes in it finally starts to count the distance walked from that point.
It shows a map of my walk which appears to be accurate though. Very odd.

Unless you are a coal miner, you don't need it.

Seems ArmorSuit get a lot of love in the US, but I can't find anywhere in the UK that stock them, and they don't ship overseas. When I had my 38mm I used a Best Skins Ever (BSE) protector that went on wet, and I reckon it saved me a few times. When I went to sell the watch there wasn't a single scratch.
However now I have a 42mm Series 2 and I'm going naked, but won't wear it for any intense DIY or gardening.Or out on the p!ss.Definitely not then. The trusty Casio G-shock comes out then. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
