Just logged into Netflix on my Tab S2, with my UHD Premium account & was able to search & watch 4K HDR Netflix series "Iron Fist" & with the screen set to AMOLED Cinema mode, it looked fantastic (even though my S2's not got an HDR compatible screen), so on the S4 it should look a lot better. Talking meself into getting one now, data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Hope the extra info helps.

Had a good look around the web & can't find anything that says yes or no.
I guess if you connected it to a TV via a powered usb-c hub with an HDMI socket output to TV, in theory, you should be able to do both, but i'm just guessing. Not yet used a device with usb-c 3.0 socket on.

I’ve asked the question to Samsung support, just awaiting an answer.Typically I asked them about 4k hdr media playback on a tv they just pointed me to the spec that says the processor can play 4k media at 60hz. It sort of only half answers the question so not holding much hope about charge and play

LOL.
Basically, if you want to consume digital magazines or books (in portrait mode), then the S2 or S3 would be better as the 4:3 aspect ratio (height to width) almost replicates a magazine page.
You can still watch videos on it, but, you'll have large black bars on the top & bottom of the screen. This means wasted screen space you're not using.
If (on the other hand) you have no interest in reading digital magazines or books, & only want to watch video, web browse or basic email stuff like that, then the S4 having a 16:10 aspect ratio would be ideal as it is almost a widescreen format (like your tellies 16:9 aspect) & therefore you get thinner black bars top & bottom & thus have less wasted screen space.
Bit long winded sorry, but it's quite a bit of money to shell out for, & you'll want to make the most of it (i would imagine).data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
