I thought the guardian system was supposed to be extremely effective? I think the mat may be more of a fetish thing data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Ha I’ve had a few fetishes but floor mats would be a new one! Yeah, to supplement the guardian - it seems like a good idea to be able to orientate yourself while wearing the headset. If ur on the mat it’s good, and if you feel the edge you know your going astray. It may not be necessary, but I’ve a fairly small play area and wouldn’t want the blue grid popping up all the time.
I’ve had a Go for a year, so have had a taste with that. And I had an hour or so on a Vive at a VR arcade, and that just got me drooling for 6DOF.
Yeah, definitely a mind blowing experience at times. I try to explain to people who’ve never done it, and they just don’t get it!

Indeed VR is something which can't be described but has to be experienced. On paper many non vr users will just say stuff like "but it is just like looking at a big TV screen up close". And also will just focus on the negatives. Don't get me wrong the limitations of vr are real but for me at least are largely irrelevant.

Couldn’t agree more. You have to experience it to truly have an opinion.I get just as much fun from watching friends and relatives trying it out for the first time as I do using it myself.I’ve yet to meet a single person who wasn’t completely blown away.Young and old, gamers and non-gamers.Even the utter sceptics crumble when that T Rex comes round the corner data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

128GB ordered - coming next week (although the order from Oculus says not till the 22nd?). Also ordered the case thanks to being tempted by @onezeon
Don't have Beat Sabre - so that's a must but have a few cross play games already on Quest.
And REALLY looking forward to Vader after the reviews:

Beat Saber is coming out of EA on the 21st! It’s currently £14.99 on the oculus store. I guess you can but it now for the RiftS. But there isn’t a quest store at present.
Ahhh it appears there is currently only a demo for the quest As the full game hasn’t been converted yet

So Superhot, Moss and Beat Saber are definitely not cross-buy. And it seems that the increase in price of BS comes just in time for its quest debut.
