Been through them - downloaded the original setup file, gone through the license agreement procedures etc and set up the second .exe file.I've tried running it through the HP link that pops up, and also tried going in manually to the file in the saved folder. It opens up the USB creation utility, lets me select the USB drive I want to create the files on, warns me about formatting and goes through a brief importing of data before returning to the original setup screen (no indication its finished or any further steps). When I check the USB there are 6 files on it (one of which is the SP5344 original exe file), and no.ROM files at all.Tried it a dozen times or so and the end result is always the same data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I was having this problem this morning - clicking the HP link downloads a new USB utility to your downloads folder, and copies everything from there. What I did was to browse to the original USB utility - in my case "C:\SWSetup\SP54344\USB Key", which seems to have created the correct files.

Hope that helps!

Yes you are right, the HDD's are now eject-able in the task bar so I can only assume they are running in AHCI now then, my 2TB WD drives seem plenty fast enough for standalone drives as im getting 120-130mb/s read/write speeds data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

The HP N36l includes sb850 which supports SATA 6G. Is it possible to enable this feature somehow?

Regards.

Hi,

are there any news re S3 Sleep?

theronkinator Publish time 2-12-2019 04:38:00

Are you fitting an SSD because with a HDD you will see no gain at all, even if you use a SATA III HDD (it's just marketing).

szape Publish time 2-12-2019 04:38:00

Yes, I'd like to install an OCZ Agility 3 SSD.

agreed would really like S3 sleep capability and then this unit would be perfect for me.Is it possible?I think I recall someone saying the chipset supports it but can't be 100% sure on this.

Is this latest modified BIOS ok for the newer N40L? Will I be losing anything by using what was created for the older Micro Server model?
