Hi Hristoslav2,

very clear and... even more and more difficult to find the right tv...
I am getting tired to bring and send back tv because of different issues.

Now I am thinking to buy something very cheap... it will not be a great tv? ok.. but I have paid it less than half...

Actually I saw some Toshiba tv and these don't seem so bad:

- 40 TL868
- 42 VL863
- 46 TL933

Any your information about them will be highly appreciated as always.
Cheers

Hi Hristoslav2,

I would also like to know what matrix & processor this TV has? Thanks from now.

I personally do not like Toshiba for low equipment and often poor fit.

Yes, I think that I have to agree with you...
Yesterday I saw a couple of this TVs and I didn't have a good feeling...

Now, while I am trying to squeeze out the best possible picture from a 40" Samsung ES7000 (that it is quite bad in many situations) I am considering the Philips...
...maybe the series 7xxx (40") or 6xxx (42")....

So painful...data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Always me...
I have understood that panel IPS are worse than S- PVA regarding the contrast.
But watching a Samsung S- PVA I have noticed that in the black area there is a lot of dithering.
It is incredible how much the details are destroyed.
But if to reach deep black level they have introduced these artefacts, I don't care about the performance that an instrument can register...the result is ugly!
On the other hand I had the impression that IPS produce more natural blacks. Isn't true?
I mean, maybe it is better to have a lower contrast level but with more natural and not artificial blacks...
Am I wrong?
Thanks.

I have had TVs eith ips, ips alpha,tn, and s-pva, and yep the contrast I's lower with ips and the black levels vary from manufacturer. On the whole the s-pva is superior when it comes to blacks. If your finding your getting black crush then it's ether down to 3 things, manufacturers picture processing. Using unnecercery picture enhancements. Incorrect calibration.

Hi Tvfinder

as you wrote ...On the other hand we have seen a middle class tv like Philips 5507 receiveng a lot of good reviews just because of its Sharp panel, while the same model with Samsung panel is performing much worse....

sorry but its not correct or wrong opinion!

Phil 5xx 46/55 even 32 with Samsung Module to supply "very good performing"!! even with their sale-price too
but 40" is something confuse!

For Tosh TVs such as you indicated models;in frankly I do not recommend you all those selected!
But keep in mind and check it this "Tosh 42YL863"(it has LGD type Module)at present well its a pricey here in Turkey!if its come atractive price than I'll buy it and replaced with my Pany LCD

yep, totally agree. Its only my last w5, & hx803 that i started to: (1)-Switch to main cinema mode, (2)-Turn all processing & picture enhancment off, except motionflow std/clear if it helps any.(3)-Get some white balance adjustments online from a reliable source, though somtimes this is easier said than done.Thats it imo.            Here is a good place to get advice. I haven't looked back since as if we dont get an picture adjustments routine going, one will be forever tinkering with settings,data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I've been looking for an LG 42" S-IPS panel c/w 4:4:4 Chroma

Does this model number correspond with these requirements?
