Hi guys
Quick update for this thread.
My ageing 26c3030d stopped working on the DTV tuner on the 18th April. I was seeing exactly the same symptoms as mentioned in previous posts.
Before ringing Toshiba I thought I'd leave the TV on standby for 24 hours and then power it off. Left it off for about an hour and then powered up again.
On power up the DTV tuner is working again! Looks like it updated itself at somepoint in the last 24 hours or so data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Hope this works for others.

I have a 37C3030DB with exactly the same problem - no DTV but can watch Freesat through a set top box plugged into HDMI1.The menus appear but only for a split second.
I phoned Toshiba 0844 856 0730 and spoke with Chris who was excellent, and knew exactly what the problem was.
He is sending me a card which plugs into a slot the size of a credit card slot at the back of the set, right at the bottom. This will update the software in the DTV board.
I will post again when set is working.

Received the card today. It was rather tricky to insert and you have to switch the TV to DTV to see the "Upgrading" message.
Glad to say the TV is now fully functioning.Thank you AVForums members.

I only found this thread last night and contacted Toshiba this morning, they are sending me the fix.
Just wanted to say a big thanks to this forum as before finding this I had resigned myself to doing without the DVT on the TV (we normally watch TV via a PVR anyway)

Following the advice on here, I contacted Tosh UK, spoke to a helpful bloke on the tech help desk who arranged for the CF card to be sent out.following day it arrived, followed simple instructions and 5 mins later all was well. The card is now sitting in it's reply paid envelope ready for the post tomorrow.
Brilliant service and really much appreciated.

I contacted Toshiba about this last week, got the card within 2 days and the problem is fixed.
Really good service on a TV that's 6 years old.
