Very interesting concept applicable to lcd and oled. love it

LG's 2019 4K OLED TV will have speakers that move, ending the misery of black bars

Seen this, but why on an oled? Black bars disappear in the dark lol

Fair comment...i think I was more excited on an lcd to be fair as maximum benefits there and liked the sliding audio...

Isn't the bigger news here the 21:9 aspect ratio OLED screen?

My parents would love this, they hate black bars so much they zoom the image in/out as needed to fit their 16:9 screen!

You are right
The reality is that I don’t really understand what 21:9 means as it seems to be very gaming orientated
Irrespective of oled or lcd, I love the fact you seem to loose black bars and that’s a big bonus especially for lcd

I don't really like the idea of moving speakers. Especially on high end gear when most are using surround sound systems anyways for movies. For me the ideal screen is just a screen. With the sound built into the screen or behind. I personally feel that's the most attractive as your eyes focus on nothing but the screen. One of the things I love about the Q900R is that its just basically a screen. Theres bezels but on the 75 inch there so small all you see is screen and then the external box for connections. I feel more companies need to go the external box route.

I hear you but without turning this into a big debate, the idea of getting rid of black bars for lcd is appealing.
Not even sure 21:9 is needed, just capability to move from standard to 16:9 at the push of a button...
Ref sound, imagine the speakers on the side of the old Sony screen just moving slightly...
Probably useless for Oled but not for lcd for sure
