I want to see MicroLED in smartphones ASAP, will save so much on battery usage

CaptainNick Publish time 1-12-2019 22:09:32

Most Samsung phones use OLED already so there's little battery to be saved over that. I can't see mobile devices benefitting from MicroLED other than brightness and that will use more battery!

Even with microled screens the say is you can save about 40% on battery compared to oleds, and not to worry about burn in and the phone getting dim after few years like my note 4

Ladies and gentleman, I am very proud to share with you the mother of all YouTube useful videos. Strong beer or spirit required...

Found to hard to understand it, only watched bits.

It is not easy to follow. There are good explanation on what mini led and micro led means at the beginning
Then a boring technical part about transfer technologies and challenges
Then a useful roadmap which explains that we are not there yet...more like 2023
At the end, he takes some questions about mini led and Samsung. He estimated the size of the mini led used by Samsung versus the wall and the price of the coming 75 based on his model...around 10000 dollars.

I will review it again in more details and try to extract key messages...tough one but full of info for once as opposed to the usual boring blurb we are getting..this guy knows what he is talking about.

I'm not hopeful for mini led come ces, mostly be FALD. If FALD is to expensive then it's highly unlikely we'll get many sets of mini led

I'm going to guess the new Samsung 4K sets will be the quantum dots on glass display they showed off earlier this year which I think had around 600-800 dimming zones. Im guessing the Q900R will still be there flagship 8K set.

I remember something indeed and especially a picture of it. Any links anyone?
I want to see mini led...thousands of them...and 600-1000 local dimming zones. Worried only the 75 will get the mini led treatment...nothing else

Only thing I could find was an 8K version of that tech.
