Hmm yes that could bean issue.
I control my hue lights from outside just using my data connection.Maybe these can do the same.So you only need an Internet connection not be on the same network.

Can't wait for the release of this. Getting hue, hive installed just for it and buying a harmony hub to hopefully one day make my harmony ultimate one redundant.

What did you pay for you hive?
Looking to get one too are they easy to fit.
British gas was £249 for the hive fitted.

That ceiling light looks really nice I have been wanting to replace my main light in the living room for years. Is 40w enough to light a room, I have two 60w Hues in lamps and find them about adequate to light the room. Just wondering as it's a down firing light it's range might not be great, but combined with the lamps might be really nice.

British gas were doing an offer where I got it for £199 installed. I'm not sure if they are still doing it to be honest.
