And I love BlueWizards manly grotto and his DIY speakers, always a pleasure to see them.

I love seeing other people's systems. Not interested in AV - just stereo for me, so love this thread.
Some real beauties so far. Valve amps just look so cool data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Anyway, here's mine. Built up over anumber of years and I love it.

The Music Lover by simon ess, on Flickr
Speakers: Pierre Etienne Leon ML2 isobariks. From the 1980s - £110
TT: Thorens TD150 II with Sure cartridge and Jico SAS stylus. - approx £200 total
Amp: Sugden A21a series 2. - £510
CD: CA 740c. - Bought new before I knew better
Phono stage: CA 640P. Did have a Graham Slee, but found it too bright.
There's also an Onkyo ND-S1 I-pod dock with digital out to the CA 740. The TV also has digital out to the CA 740.

RobertSeymour,
You've got a LUXMAN TURNTABLE!!!!
How do you find that? They cost a King's ransom, but they do look very clean, and I would expect them to perform beautifully. But YIKES! ... the price.
Here is the latest Luxman turntable -
LUXMAN PD-171 TURNTABLE at Music Direct
Would dearly love one of these, but just can't see parting with that much money.

Steve, my PD-272 was £160, hardly a kings ransom data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Its a pity that the new Luxman (recent) turntables are all belt driven, and not made on the grounding of the 70's and 80's battleship PD-300, PD-444, PD-555 etc.
Anyway back to the 272, I really like it, it spins at the right speed (just about) and has a really nice arm. Looks great and is quite quiet for a relatively cheap DD from the late 70's/early 80's with a basic wood frame plinth.

Nice to see speakers given room to breath - seems like most people don't bother with that anymore data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
