I went into my local Phones4U today to enquire about the 920.
While I was there another customer came in to enquire about the phone.
We were advised that supply has been delayed, and no availability date has been provided by Nokia.
The assistant advised that they had received stock of the 820 which they were not allowed to sell until tomorrow.

They probably are making sure they'll be locked to EE. That's the only reasonable explanation as people are already buying them in France and Germany.

Well to be fair, Phones 4U staff have not proved reliable throughout this process, so I would take anything they have to say with a HUGE pinch of salt.
EE's stance is that the phone is available from 9th, not sure if they are currently holding stock, kinda hoping they are and that it will be posted to reach customers on the 9th.
Like getting blood out of a stone tbh

I think I will wait till Jan. Myself. I dont want to be on EE and I dont want the early adopter problems.

I was advised by my local Phones4U that they will be receiving stock tomorrow.
I asked if the 920 would be available SIM free, and they said it would depend on how many units they received.

Some stores received stock today, some are getting tomorrow and some after the weekend. It seems all very drip fed into selected stores.
Lots of reports of people trying to buy one sim-free and staff at P4U not wanting to sell them, and only selling them on contract. What a mess!
