Seems young kids in families like these as included games and a new device are seen as better gifts than a secondhand box with secondhand games.

Wonder if Microsoft might get into mini retro games market?

Nobody else seems to be mentioning the wired controllers either?

Once you've used wireless with a feedback/rumble feature, why would you go back? Okay, so they need charging and wired is literally plug & play, but I can remember having to buy a cable extension in the past for my PS1 controller as the cable was stupidly short sitting 9 feet away from the telly.

But the mini NES/SNES has sold pretty well so I guess there is a market for this sort of thing. And will we ever see the remastered "FF VII" on the PS4!

Oh it'll be novel all right! You'll play games that have never looked like this before!data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

If it's regular USB, we can at least afford the extension cables!

Not sure if will get one will depend on the games, but think they could do more with these minis in terms of games.
Sure there could be licensing issues with some games but 20 is not enuf even the snes with 30 is a tad low but with the PS1 i just wish they could take the top 50 games sold and put them on there. Space is no issue with the games being probably only a few hundred MB tops?.

If i fancy GT or Die Hard trilogy (remember that one? Airport was quality!!data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7) will just fire up the ps3.

Probably not. That’s only 2 generations ago so not that retro.

Size of the games might be an issue as well as we’d be moving into the 4-8gb per game range so to offer a decent number of games they’d prob need to make it 128gb & that alone would add £30to the price.

They have, it’s called free backwards compatibility

SpuddybabyUK Publish time 27-11-2019 00:10:55

not exactly free though is it as you have to buy an xbox one and buy the games

I still have my original PlayStation, but I'm not sure how I'd connect it to a HDMI input?I can't remember if my tv has other inputs, probably does, but how bad would the games look!!

I'm happy with my rose tinted memories of original PS games.
