I try to remember and look at the nutritional labels on food - it's horrifying how much saturated fat is in things.
Also (having slipped back to bad eating habits after moving home over a year ago) slowly improving my diet. Never been great on vegetables but found fresh fine green beans are very nice so that is a small step forward and I try to look around for others.
If on step doesn't work it's not a setback, just look for something else.
One mistake I have made in the past is to try and make a big change and then get frustrated if it doesn't work.

Sugar is another thing - it's amazing the sugar in some day to day stuff. Fat's are necessarily a bad thing for you, moderation etc.

I'm doing more gardening - i.e. some - and it seems to be helping me lose weight.
