I put on a stone over Christmas and earlier this year due to working nights, then illness (I had pneumonia so could barely even walk anywhere but I never lost my appetite!). I’m getting older now at 41, so decided to actively try and lose weight for the first time in my life. Being a postie and cycling for a hobby I’ve never needed to before. I started a training program on the bike (indoor trainer) and cut out almost all chocolate, biscuits and bread.

I’ve lost nearly 3kg in two weeks, one thing I’ve really noticed helps is that if I feel hungry and go to the fridge I have a long drink of cold water, orange juice or anything diet, and it really does take away the desire to eat something.

Haven't posted in this forum for quite some time, used too a few years back. Seemed like the appropriate place/thread to post this...

As usually happens over the Christmas period, the mince pies and brandy cream mixed with more Peanut M&M's than I should have been consuming, got the better of me..

Started
Jan 2nd 2018 - 13st 2lb. I'm somewhere between 5'8" - 5'9"

I've never really had a lot of time to exercise the past two years as my job changed due to redundancy and I now travel a fair distance 3 times a week, resulting in getting up early and coming home late.

Really wanted to combine push/pull and many other resistance exercises along with cardio, so purchased a Power Tower, and some Resistance Bands to go along with my existing work bench and 5-52lb Bowflex dumbbell set.

Really starting to feel the benefits of my workout routine, even though I'm not able to do it exactly by the book. Definitely feel stronger, lighter on my feet and look so much better shape wise. Haven't felt or looked this good since 2015 when I did a lot of HIIT.

Currently
As of last weigh-in, Apr 12th 2018 - 11st 10lb.

Even my 6 year old boy said to me this morning.. "Daddy, you're boobs have shrunk"

P90X3 folks...

Would recommend a strength/lifting program such as 5/3/1 or StrongLifts 5x5 while maintaining a healthy caloric deficit of 300-500 pounds. No matter what, consistency is the biggest factor and as long as you can keep it up the exact program you use doesn't matter as much if your goal is simply to "healthy up".
