Ha, hadn't spotted that one. No, I'm not going to live on a ship, I get seasick! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I picked up a basic 3.5L slow cooker yesterday for £14 which will get me started, I can upgrade it later if I need to, once I know what I'm doing.

@MrSossidgeif you don't need the yogurt making feature of the 7 in 1 there's a good price on the newest version of the 6 in 1 on AmazonInstant Pot Lux 60 V3 6-in-1 Programmable Electric Pressure Cooker with Stainless Steel Cooking Pot, 6 Litre: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home

Cheers, but I've got another Duo on it's way now. I probably won't ever use the yoghurt function but just knowing I've got the option is satisfying.

Well I have the yoghurt version, but I'm mildly lactose intolerant data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 oh well... I could use lactase I guess, should work.

Managed to make jasmine rice and beef massaman curry yesterday; rice was great, curry was pretty good but I need to thicken it a bit more next time. That might be in part because I didn't have quite enough massaman curry paste, I'll stock up next time I find more.

I'm going to try a creamed soup or mac and cheese next (finished in the oven with breadcrumbs).

I'm hovering...

Do you eat rice? Then unless you have a rice cooker already, buy one.
Do you eat curries and/or like slow cooked, tender meat? Then buy one.
Do you like gadgets and shiny things? If not, why are you on AVF in the first place? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 If so, buy one.

Your welcome.

Replacement arrived today. Nice and silent.

It's a bit eerie, they're surprisingly quiet when cooking as well - the only real noises are the beeping and when you release the pressure.

Good machine I'm sure but the pictures of the food prepared in it look awful data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Wife made chilli today. 5 hour slow cook but lots of liquid from one tin of tomatoes. She's also going to pressure cook a whole chicken and I've got the makings for a sausage casserole for the boys on Thursday.                                                                         https://www.avforums.com/attachments/img_20170314_180602-jpg.837502/                                                                                https://www.avforums.com/attachments/img-20170314-wa0001-jpg.837503/
