Normally do this up and down session twice a week:

15 x 90kg
12 x 105kg
10 x 120kg
12 x 105kg
15 x 90kg

Have to be a bit careful though as I've got a rebuilt ankle and about 30 pins in my lower leg, courtesy of my rugby days..data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Same as Chump, ass not to the floor. Usually down to about horizontal thighs. My ankle won't allow me to go any lower as I don't have the movement in it.

Genuine question: What's the benefit of a only doing a 2 repper over say 5-8 reps at 70 or 80% Max ?

silent ninja Publish time 26-11-2019 05:00:40

I rarely do more than 5 reps. 3-5 works well for strength and carries over to running and other sports. Squats give you an insane vertical jump.

Strength. Most strength based lifts work in the 1-3 rep range.

Mainly work strengh in my legs. squats and dead lifts ( 250kg ) 1-3 reps max. Upper body reps hardly go past 8

Thanks guys. I've always varied between 5x5 and 3x8-10. But then I have very girly legs so size Is important to me data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

How do you approach the warm up for just 2 reps ? Do you just do singles increasing in weight until you hit your working set ?

wookielover Publish time 26-11-2019 05:00:41

I just start from a fairly light weight and work up in reps of 2 or 3 .
So for dead lifts a typical session would look like this ( all for 2 - 3 reps )
70kg
90kg
110kg
130kg
150kg
170kg
200kg
220kg
250kg

Passout

I can appreciate the pass out data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

When you lay it out like that it becomes a lot more than just two reps at max
