My boss swears by eating black pudding raw. Like how you get it from the supermarket, not a floppy balloon of blood.
I’ve yet to find the courage tbh.

It’s never bought raw. It’s always cooked (boiled). You then can fry it. Straight out of the boiler with some mustard on is supposed to be a real treat. I’d love to try it!

Potato cakes are great in an English breakfast if you want potato. Hash browns are American

Food of the gods I tell you. I quite often have a tortilla wrap with ketchup, bacon, egg, chilli, and black pudding.
I’ll take a pic once the health wagon is well and truly moving again.

For me, it looks bland.
Virtually every mushroom I’ve tasted in the U.K. fry up is bland unless it’s cooked with lots of butter and seasoning. I find the larger mushrooms are most bland.
Id have to coat that breakfast in so much sauce that it would become unhealthy.

I’m the opposite, the larger mushrooms have the most flavour.

I think generally we don’t have much choice in the U.K.
I picked up some Chanterelle mushrooms in France and they blew away any mushroom I’ve ever tasted in the U.K.
I’m sure you can get them over here but they’re everywhere in Europe.

I disagree and as a not massive fan of the common UK mushroom (apart from the large as with #47) I find most supermarkets in the UK have a pretty good choice of mushrooms, with Chestnut, Wild, Oyster, Shiitake and a few others often available.

I’ve tried them all and find them nothing to write home about, unfortunately.
Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy mushrooms in the UK but find they need a good amount of butter and seasoning.
