According to her, it's the reason she called the election in the first place. As the result actually reduced her mandate, she needs to bow out whilst she still has some dignity. I don't see that position improving with her proposed deal with the devil.
The current government are done after this debacle, they just haven't realised it yet.

Any other election year would be a straight yes from me but I can't decide really because of the upcoming Brexot negotiations & significantly increased vote share. Plus who would the successor be.... Davies, Gove or Johnson (would be hilarious though!) Think it's too soon for Rudd.

domtheone Publish time 26-11-2019 03:07:02

Would say yes, but not now.

Otherwise we get the usual nonsense about the new person not having a mandate to do this and that.

The only sort of decent Tory who springs to mind is Sarah Wollaston but I don't think she'd get anywhere near the leadership, given it's likely now or never for Boris.

EarthRod Publish time 26-11-2019 03:07:02

Boris is stuck in the 1980s - still throwing verbal bread-rolls at everybody.

Anyone who goes into an election 20 points ahead and then fails to win it should be removed immediately.

Does that include the Conservative Party bosses who rubber-stamped and signed off on the decision to hold a general election?

Pacifico Publish time 26-11-2019 03:07:03

Yes - although are there any bosses who can overrule the PM?

EarthRod Publish time 26-11-2019 03:07:03

The PM is a figurehead and has the ability and power to direct according to the wishes of the Party Executive and the policies in the manifesto.

Like any other CEO if targets are not met and many mistakes are made by the PM then the executive board members (Party bosses) can oust the PM.

I think that's how it works.

50 to 100 seat majority was the prediction , this was supposed to be Mays corantaion, instead
huge misjudgement, its astonishing, does not bode well for June 19th EU negotiating. Ifthis is winning strong and stable style, im sure liking losing under Labour.
