I can't see May not getting the 2/3rds vote to dissolve Parliament. If Labour blocked it, the perception that they fear having their arses handed to them would still be an issue in 2020 even if the situation changes.

It's gonna be an interesting few months....

....not least in here!

I always suspected - as I'm sure many others did - that we'd get a General Election sooner rather than later. Despite May's insistence to the contrary.

Well that's the rub though, if it all goes wrong she'll not have Labour or the Liberal Democrats to blame for making it harder to achieve what she wants to achieve. It's a bold move on her part.

Nope. Putin will be cracking the whip a lot in the next couple of weeks "Hack Harder".

I think some Labour MP's (if they hold onto a seat) will be quite sanguine about it. If Labour gets wiped out then so be it. It might reforge Labour into a proper political party again or it'll become a footnote in the history books.

The only way it won't go through if it Brexiteers on the Tory backbenches rebel, a bigger majority might weaken their hand and could strengthen May's. She's taking a big gamble on this going the way she wants. In so much she could get a majority but will it be a majority that's on her side or sides with the hardcore Brexiteer wing of the Party. Labour is facing a wipe out.

Perhaps when we have stopped funding the EU and its continued demands for even after we have left we actually could.

Yep, ditch Corbyn and bring back Tony. He'd do it.

Because it's a best guess as to how the country will vote....

Sorry do you need more help?

Can see the Lib Dems have a resurgence at the GE as they have a firm mandate on brexit, hell they may even get back into double figures once again data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7.

The only election that matters to Brussels will likely be the German Elections. May can get a mandate for Brexit but it does not change the nature of Article 50 and the option for the EU to play hardball.

It's probably the best time to call an election in the UK, just after the French Election and before the German election.
