I agree the camo paint story was nonsense, but I didn't raise the issue of camo paint, you did.

So back on topic, how is blacking up to impersonate the Jamaican bobsleigh team different from morris dancers blacking up?

krish Publish time 26-11-2019 02:52:55

I said ignorant, not discriminatory or racist.

Forgetting any so called PC/anti-PC waffle, if you don't think blacking up to (badly) emulate a black person is not ignorant in 2017, with much baggage from the past, then we'll have to agree to disagree. You already said it may be in poor taste ... so not too far off it being ignorant perhaps?
Seems to me that the anti-PC police are at it again, deciding what isn't offensive. You're as bad as each other.

Videos are out there you can look for youself and judge, who knows what else was recorded and is now part of a police investigation.

Marv Publish time 26-11-2019 02:52:55

Fair point, you didn't say racist or discriminatory.

My comment on it being potentially poor taste was nothing to do with the blackface.

A festival in Wales, celebrating a rather poor American movie about a Jamaican bobsleigh team? That's very poor taste. You'd think they could have chosen something more relevant to Wales.

Yep, exactly as bad. How do I get the police involved as the other side did?

So.... You don't have a link or evidence?

Not surprising people get triggered by this, this is the times we're living in. People are no longer thick skinned or can take abit of banter. These guys were clearly out having a good time and clearly doing it for a laugh. If they were dressed up in full black face like the Minstrels then i could see why it might raise a few eyebrows. But not as the cool runnings guys.

I'am surprised the PC brigade haven't boycotted comic cons and Game shows where Cos Players dress up as anime characters or asian (japanese) videogame characters.

Yes I do, and it’s not very hard to do yourself there are videos of the whole carnival from my own facebook feeds because I live reasonably close, to all over Google Yahoo et el, for the whole world to view, including you. I’m often told here, that Google is my friend, i suggest you heed this advise more than I.

There was plenty of people in traditional Welsh dress at the Carnival, but it requires watching a video of the event.

So in other words, you did actually make up the "gorilla grunting" allegation then.

Jezza99 Publish time 26-11-2019 02:52:56

Eddie Murphy, "whited" up. Ignorant? Offensive? Racist?
                                                                                                                                        /proxy.php?image=http://z3.ifrm.com/67/29/0/p514950/image002.jpg&hash=d37884907ff28f1f552d56a7a599739f

Not in the slightest. Some people need to get a hobby.

Enki Publish time 26-11-2019 02:52:56

Nope. It’s easy to find that’s all, use favoured search engine', type, Carnival Aberaeron 2017, click on videos and watch, happy to be disproved, its not normally this difficult to get someone post a link to disprove, I understand the lack of ambiguity does make it difficult for the ego, but there we are, fact can be an issue with narratives and agendas.
