The poll only serves to demonstrate why referendums need to be binary in nature.

The 'fluff' options only serve to dilute the vote and confuse the picture, the vast majority of votes on a subject such as this will always gravitate to the extreme in/out/yes/no options.

All other votes are essentially just wasted votes.

^ which is precisely why referendums need to be either thrown in the bin or at the very least have some seriously thought out minimum vote ratio to count AND made very clear they are only advisory no matter what anyone says or promises.

I couldn't vote for the top 4 options as I'm not oppossed to anything, I'm opposed to them.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

And there's been 48 referenda relating to the EU and all were a straight 50:50 vote. This one was cleared through the independent electoral commission and passed through parliament. This was also one of the most popular votes in UK voting history. Second highest turnout in history I believe.

I can't see the problem with it other other than some people not actually liking the answer. That the problem?

blackrod Publish time 25-11-2019 22:20:56

The problem I have with it was that it was a binary choice to a question with a much larger choice of answers as has been proven with the current mess.
Then add in lies by both sides and absolute whoppers by the leave lot and it is a disgraceful state of affairs.

EXACTLY how I feel!

Indeed, and not just that. It yet again doesn't follow all possibilities. And there is no other option either. Yet again a flawed poll that has no representation for my position and I'm sure will be the same for others.
