Definitely gong to try and get both ASAP now, the amp was pretty much "at some point in the future" to as soon after the HD500 as I can data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

It was originally going to be HD500, upgrade PC, DT25. The last two have now switched places data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

At least I can part finance it selling my Zoom G3 and HT5 data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Even the connections download booklet was complicated enoughdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Enough to put me off thinking about it, but if Jon says its not too hard to understand, or writes us a Dummies Guidedata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7, might be tempted one day.

Isn't just a matter of one lead from Variax to HD500 then one to the amp? What could be simpler data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

She we start laying odds until Jon caves and buys a Variax to complete the package? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Every sound I've heard coming from that amp is great. With some of the others, some of the sounds weren't as good. But as I said, I've only played some of the presets, I haven't tried fiddling around on my own.

Will do, boss! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7And I reckon they'll go in the GAS Lust List for everyone else now too data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Seriously, unless you get a price on the bundle that makes it a no-brainer, I'd try the HD500X with your existing amp first. You'll certainly get a lot of cool new sounds.Actually, it would be very interesting to plug it into that amp and the DT25 and do a comparison - it shouldn't be too hard to arrange that if you go to one of the big shops.

I think the connections are easy enough. As Goooner the Green says, it's just one lead from guitar to pod, and then the XLR from pod to amp (plus power for each, of course). You have to buy the XLR cable separately, it isn't included with either the amp or the pod (and thankfully I thought to ask the sales guy that question while I was there!).All of the other connections are there for recording or hooking into bigger sound systems etc etc, and I think their use will be obvious if and when needed. The HD500X has a headphone socket (which the amp doesn't), which means that you can actually run it on its own (to phones or to a computer for recording, it includes a USB cable).

If you have another amp, then it's just a standard 1/4" lead.

If I see any use in writing an intro to the HD500X and the DT25, then I'll do it.I've just seen that Line 6 publish manuals - including a Quick Start Guide - here.I'll take a look - I don't know if it's the same as the manual I got with it (haven't looked yet).

Sticking to my guns on this one - I have no intention of getting one at the moment!Current thoughts are the BM Special and perhaps one day a nice Gibson Les Paul, but that will wait until I've got enough money to get one that's a keeper.Anyway, I'll have to try them first and be convinced that it's worth the money.

Bit tight of them not to throw in the lead, or have them included with either the amp or the pod anyway, when you're spending that sort of money. But then I suppose unless you're buying both, you wouldn't need it anyway, so which would include it with?

Thanks. Meant to look for that a while ago.

Did you get a copy of the supplemental DVD that demonstrates the technique for switching the Pod?
