if its any consolation I used to play drums and still find strumming patterns tough ...find some of them a bit easier now with a bit of practice...still find some hard to sound 'fluid' with chord changes.

still find it easier watching someone doing a song on youtube rather than trying to read the strumming pattern written down.....I think its another one of those conscious things...start slow and try not to think about it too much.

just replaced my picks with some assorted Dunlop nylon ones which help for some faster ones I've been doing.
...hardly ever tap my foot...something I should get used to doing....but somehow manage to keep pretty good time without doing.

....U2's one is one I keep playing with at the mo....started adding some hammer ons to it as well which adds a bit to it....finding good to practice C, F maj 7 and G changes ...theres good video of a guy going through it on youtube where you can see his arm and left leg going up and down at the same time and the strums he misses quite clearly

Justinguitar does a couple of strumming DVDs, or mp4s or iso if you just want to download that do loads of strumming patterns, not sure if they're covered in his lessons, well worth a look though.

just started having a go at 'wonderwall'....now theres a strumming pattern !

having a go at the main part ....4 chords with each having its own patterndata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7.

can play my 'own one' which sounds like the track...but finding the proper one a bit tricky especially training my brain to do 4 downs in a row ...then 3 ups in a row data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Quite a tricky one that, isn't it? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

The song itself isn't too difficult, you can keep you pinky and ring fingers in place the whole way through and just move your first and second fingers for all the chords. Just need to get the strumming pattern right data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

yeah...got the first part off ok now....although the strumming on the G chord is not quite the same as is written down everywhere....sounds fine to me though and will do for now.

god knows how mr NG worked all that one out when he was writing it

...got to have a look at the chorus now.

gotta love a bit of Oasis for some beginner guitar

Had a look at WW this evening. Sounding pretty decent if I say so myself. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

This clip helped with the strumming pattern.

that one doesn't quite sound right to me ?

think uuu dudu on the asus 4 sounds better to my ears.....but hey anything close is good enough.

personally I'm struggling fitting the bridge and chorus into the equation
