Yeah, I've read them all - they're excellent. Arguably Stephen King's best work IMO. The graphic novel series is ongoing now as well. Pretty decent, but not a patch on the novels themselves.

Read through them all twice now and thoroughly enjoyed them, Wizard and Glass is probably my favourite.

I found the first to be quite basic compared to the rest, even if you think it's average persevere and give book 2 a go.

I'm a Dark Tower nut. Stephen King does not get the credit he deserves. They are this generations Lord of the Rings (in my opinion) I can not recommend these novels enough, and I would also recommend the graphic novels mentioned above but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not read the graphic novels before you read the actual books.

Regards any adaption, Damon Lindeloff (who was working with J.J.Abrahms on the adaptions) have passed on them saying they can't do them justice. The people now looking at them are Ron Howard (good) and Akiva Goldsman (worrying), he being of Batman and Robin fame.

Anyway, back on subject, the wonderful thing about the Dark Tower series is that it'll give you a greater enjoyment of nearly all his books as they all tend to link directly whether it be themes (Talisman), characters (Eyes of the Dragon, Hearts in Atlantis) or events (The Stand), even down to just slight references.

Indeed, if you read Dark Tower you need to follow them up with these (if you haven't read them yet):
Eyes of the Dragon,
Hearts in Atlantis,
The Talisman (and its sequel) Black House
and Insomnia
There are others, but those are must reads (if you enjoy Dark Tower of course!) as it just adds to the universe he has created. It makes it all so enjoyable. Please don't hesitate to read these books.

I've recently come across this and have heard nothing but good things. I've just ordered The Gunslinger and am looking forward to it.
