I've had occasional back pain and having heated seats has really helped sooth my back. The only issue I have with these in my C Class is that they don't heat up as fast as my old 3 series did: They would be warming up by the time I got to the end of our (short) road, the Merc takes a good 5 minutes which seems an age when the leather is cold in winter.

I wouldn't have a car without heated seats now. It's such a great feature. Most of my cars have been convertibles, so it's nice to drive around in winter with the roof off and heated seats on. My Boxster went in for some warranty work the other day and they gave me a new 718 Boxster as a courtesy car. It had a heated steering wheel and it was fantastic. So nice driving around at night with the heated seats and steering wheel on!

Even our BMW 1 Series has heated seats now though, can't do without it!

You need heated leathers in winter and air con leathers in summer.

In cold winter your turds freeze even though joggers, it’s like sitting on an ice cube. In summer it will cook your turds, wear shorts and you’ll suffer 3rd degree burns.

Better to get half leathers

I'd rate heated seats as more important but having had all kinds of different interiors I would not go leather. Whilst leather smells nice and feels premium it doesn't wear as well as fabric and suffers form being cold in winter and ultra hot in summer.

My car does this out of the box and has electric non-folding mirrors. Don't need to be set on a particular mirror with the selector, its just a tick box in the options menus.

Also on the subject of costs the folding mirrors are typically 50%more expensive to replace so they may not save you money at all.

What car is it? My instructions above were certainly required to set it up on both my 2011 A4 and 2014 A5
Unfortunately I don’t have folding / dipping mirrors on my current A4 (66 plate 2017 model)

Mine (Skoda so I reckon VAG in general) works the way you say. Plus I have to tick the option as well I think. May be wrong on the menu - there’s so many things to fiddle with in there I can’t remeber what needs a tick and what doesn’t!
