Admiral last year: £315
Admiral renewal this year: £360
Admiral online quote: £340
Cheapest on comparison site: £287 (with increased mileage)
Admiral after ringing them back: £290 (with increased mileage)

Every year we go through the same nonsense. Why don't the shysters just gimme their best price first?

Admiral current promotion on Quidco £75 cashback. Hmm they still didn’t give you the best price after ringing back. Doing it yourself online 340 -75 = 265. Your cheapest quote out of all of them data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

You have to become a savvy shopper...

Thanks mate, yes I already tried this but it falls over on the Admiral site because I already have a policy with them so it just asks me to log on. Will see if I can jemmy it using a different email or something.

With Admiral what I do is change my dob and do a new quote, then ring up and say I have a cheaper online quote, when going through the details change the dob to be correct.

First, make sure you are sitting down.

Got a renewal quote from LV and.... IT'S GONE DOWN!

OK, a little over five percent but renewals have been stupidly higher when I was with other insurers.
Couldn't do better on GoCompare either.

Probably because they looked at your age, and thought, oh, the poor old guy, at his age, little risk, let's give him a good deal this year, after all, won't be around much longer probably data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
