Same as me, I wonder if most insurers are actually underwritten by the same few companies.

i've had my renewal come in and it seems a £100 cheaper than shopping on sites like confused.com!
Seems like I should be able to save more elsewhere shopping around but I'm not going to complain and try one more comparison site before going with the renewal

My renewal isn't until September but after having an accident (Non fault but insurance companies don't seem to care either way) we'll have to see what my insurance is.

Used to insure a Suzuki GSX-R1100 with them in the 90s.
Was modded like mad.
Insuring with them actually involved a phone chat with someone from the underwriters, rather than the front of house sales team.
Used to pay peanuts compared to any other insurer.
Good times.
Edit - were they called Eagle Red Star back then?

I always go with brokers chris knott etc.. But is it better to go direct? mine has gone up by £18 this year.

Just got to do the leg work yourself. Our renewal was more than it was last year. But cancelling and going with them as a new customer was a lot cheaper then last year.

I got a renewal from LV for about £450.I did an on-line quote using their website, which came out at £324.I waited a bit for them to send me a reminder and rang them up and asked if they'd match the online quote. They said they couldn't go all the way, but gave me a figure of £335.Much better!

Why not just cancel the renewal and take out the new online quote.

Yup they were idiots like that for us as well. But as they were several hundred pounds apart we really weren't interested in even discussing it. Well if it wasn't for the cheeky buggers to have already renewed it more than a week before the renewal date data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
