If when on the nav screen you press option, scroll to bottom and press about. That should give you maps version info.

No rtti on a 2016 car ? I thought you got 3 years free and then could renew for circa £35 -- I could not do without rtti !!

I don’t rate it on my 2014 NBT nav system. Slow and easily outperformed by google maps!

Well yes Google maps is going to be the best , but the RTTI probably comes from google and is overlaid on our maps ?

Hi. I've a 2017 F25 with prof nav unit that have developed a split personally data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
On a good day the nav loads in around 2 secs, other days it takes 20secs for the nav to load or just freezes then reboots after 180secs or freezes until the engine is shut off.
Dealer returned it after a week, software refresh applied under warranty, with same faults. Given the dealer video's to demonstrate the faults & they now says these are "characteristics" as the nav isn't logging any fault codes.
Other BM's "characteristics" I've owned x haven't had these "characteristics" so has anyone else seen this; had any success in getting BMW or dealers to fix these issues; or are these "characteristics"?
Any advice would welcome

OK, two points:
It's still under warranty.Get them to sort it out; no way are 'characteristics' like that acceptable. If this were any other kind of electronic gadgetry, a laptop say, which behaved like that, then I would start thinking it may well be down to hardware, such as the sat nav disc, if it has one these days.Anyway, don't just put it down to software.
