Advice on Ford dealership questionable repairs?
Need some advice on how best to proceed here and have great faith in the posters on here. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7Last week I took my van to the ford dealership in Leeds as I was having brake issues, they looked at the van and told me that I had a whole load of red issues, so I gave them permission to do the work and then to service and mot it at the same time. Total cost £3499.54.
Anyway I got the van back last night and noticed that the locking nut hadn't been fitted to one wheel. It hadn't been replaced with another nut, there was simply 4 nuts on the wheel instead of 5. These things happen so I went back to the dealership who agreed to order in a new set free of charge and fit them if I wished.
So it's all good and I left. But as I'm sure you can imagine I started to check everything on my way home as a result and have noticed that the brake pedal is very soft, the steering wheel is out of alignment and that the chrome alloy wheels nuts are mangled/dented.
So back to the dealership I'm shortly off to data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7. I sent an email last night to fords UK head office last night and will speak to the dealership manager shortly about it, but I was just wondering if anyone had some general advice?data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 I would take it to an independent garage for a report first. Or I believe AA et al do it. 3.5K is that a typo? Lost count of the amount of bodged refits and broken parts when the Ford/Iveco lorry came back from one of it's many visits to the workshop (training area more like)
The family sold and switched to Mercedes and Renault. No Can you detail the work carried out. It quite a list, but here goes

New door handle No, I know it sounds a lot (which it is), but a replacement van of the same specs would cost me around £27000 (plus an 8 to 12 week order in time if I'm lucky). Vans are not cheap things to buy. And of course part of the repair costs is the premium for using a dealership.
I would imagine that you could knock 500 to a 1000 of the price for an independent, but then I tried an independent 1st when I just thought I need one set of discs and pads changing and they made very clear that they didn't want the work Well the dealership attitude was one of everything is fine and I'm just being awkward, they will take a look at it on Monday (grudgingly for free), but everything is good. And whilst yes they should have noticed the nut, you did so it's all good and everything else has been done right.
Currently sorting out an AA inspection of the work done. They have been given a chance so will see what the inspection report says This is the letter to be dropped of tomorrow (and to be posted recorded delivery) that i would be grateful for any views on 1st.
