Nice car The Force. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 I saw a racing one of these on Bank Holiday Monday at Goodwood, it went a bit sideways coming out of the last corner, but he kept his foot down and fishtailed all the way across the line. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 If I could figure out how to do it I'd post up my video of it.

Not had much chance to detail lately with the wet weather...might have to sneak off to the garage and do some welding on the RS instead. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

The poorboys wheel sealant is pretty good but i recommend 2 coats of it and then a coat (or 2) of whatever wax you use on your bodywork - then you're laughing, all you'll need to do is shampoo your wheels, a quick 5 min job, to get them looking spanking for the next 4-6 months - maybe longer if you are lucky data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I always thought wax, then poor boys?
So you're sealing in the shine/wax.
Are you saying better to seal first, then wax?

mjn Publish time 24-11-2019 22:32:08

Yes, use a sealant (such as GTechniq C1.5 or PoorBoys) to lock in the wax.

KelvinS1965 Publish time 24-11-2019 22:32:08

Apparently you can put wax on top of sealant, though I've not bothered myself. Some even put a sealant on top of a glaze, then put wax on top of that lot too...but that's bodywork rather than wheels.

I bought some Poorboys wheel sealant a few months ago and since then nearly every wheel seal/wax thread I've seen on Detailing World has said how rubbish it is. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 I don't think it's that bad myself, so I'll be using it up before trying something 'better'. Complaints about how hard it is to apply and that is doesn't last as long as other makes, but I find it works well for me:

I put a couple of decent coats of it on my Z3 wheels (which I took off the car for a proper clean) and a quicker single coat with the wheels still on for my work 320d. I just washed the 320d this afternoon for the first time in about a month (and maybe 2,500 miles). They came up good as new with only a very diluted spray of Bilberry wheel cleaner and my EZ clean wheel brush. The water was still beading as I rinsed them off too, so I think the Poorboys must still be in place. My Z3's wheels can be cleaned almost by blowing on them. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I'm going to have a go at cleaning up one of my RS2000's polished alloys (the paint on the back has gone a bit flakey). If it cleans/paints up OK then a few coats of Poorboys will be applied to keep them fresh.

Yes, some people will use a wax, sealant, then top it off with some Wet Glaze 2.0 for that final wet look data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Crikey, if people think poor boys is hard to apply, then easier stuff must go on itself!
Poor boys is a doddle to apply!
I love the smell too.

KelvinS1965 Publish time 24-11-2019 22:32:08

Yes, I use Wet Glaze 2.0 myself, but so far only used it under a wax (and then got told on DW that it wouldn't work due to the solvents...funny thing is it looked fine to me). WG 2.0 looks like you've put another clearcoat on the car. I'm looking forward to trying it (or Wet Glaze 3.0 as it'll probably be by then) on my black RS2000. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I agree FZR400RRSP I love the smell of PB and don't have any issue myself putting it on or buffing it off. But then I don't have any issues with Collinite 476S and some seem to think it is the very devil to remove. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Many of my detailing products smell fantastic, I think that's why they do it. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Poorboys Blackhole smells kind of grapelike, but in more of a grape favoured sweet sort of way. In fact most of them smell like sweets (bubblegum, lemondrops, etc)...maybe they are tapping into our inner child. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
