2011 was the season to see that.
2012 saw an unfit Nadal, and 2013 means Federer is a year older and seemingly unable to win many big matches against the top guys anymore and also an apparent serious injury to Nole.
In 2011 all four guys were fit and healthy.
Only Murray seems to have improved since 2011 although his performance against Nadal in the Tokyo final is what most of his fans consider to be his greatest ever.

in 2011 Murray wasnt as good as he has been last year but then you could argue that nadal went missing last year!

Yeah agree about Murray. I don't think you can say Nadal went missing, he got to the final of the AO and won the French then got injured.

Monte Carlo now, the first of the big clay court events. Rafa nine-time defending champion through to the QF. Wawrinka thrashed Murray 6-1 6-2 who falls to number 3 in the ranking behind Federer who is still on his break from tennis. Djokovic has struggled but made it into the QF. Rafa is the obvious favourite having lost here just once as a 16-year old. This is one of the two M1000s that Nole has not won yet (other being Cincinnati).

The final of Monte Carlo is on at 1pm today - Nadal v Djokovic. Really loooking forward to it, hoping for a Nole victory but Nadal has won 46 matches in a row here.

Djokovic beats Nadal 6-2 7-6 and ends his eight year winning streak here. Makes the clay court season more interesting than ever.

Yes, it was a great final yesterday. Some outstanding tennis from both players but, you never got the impression that Djokovic was ever going to lose. Even in the second, a break down at 5-6, you felt he would still put Nadal under pressure in his service game for the set.
This could be his year for the French. He should have perhaps won it last year but the rain delay I felt saved Nadal as Novak was in the ascendancy before they stopped. when they came back on court, Nadal came out and started the quicker and managed to win it.
I also wonder how many more injuries Nadal can keep coming back from. The way he plays the game with constant power must play havoc with his body and joints as, even though he is super fit, he doesn't have the natural athleticism of Djokovic or Federer. It would be a shame if he has to retire before he's 30.
