Camp Rock is probably one of the most predictable movies I've seen. It was like a movie created from a pre-teen girl's mind.
So the story goes like this: there's this girl who wanted to go to some music summer camp (sounds like raise your voice). Her whole life she was invisible (sounds like princess diaries). She met these popular girls and she decided to lie about who she is so that she'll stop being invisible (sounds like confessions of a teenage drama queen) and then after some time she gets busted and for different reasons she can't do the show(still like CoaTDQ with some high school musical in it). but she figured out some ways to do the show and so she succeeded (sounds like high school musical).
sorry for the spoilers but i can't help comparing it to different movies. It became like a smaller and cheaper version of the movies i mentioned.
They used Jonas Brothers to sell millions. The acting was so dry. I hope that they used less popular celebrities....the ones who could really act, dance and sing. There are a lot of talents out there, there are talents that are yet to be discovered but Disney chose the ones who are already over-exposed (can you please bold that??). It's a good thing they used Demi it became better. But if they use miley cyrus or whoever is popular, camp rock would be worse.
Now the musical part, I call it blasphemy of musicals. sorry, but it's true. not one song is memorable( except for this is me cause it was sung all throughout the movie) and the dancing was horrible.
There was no continuity in the movie. Everything was a fake. Not realistic. They had this last dance after the final jam and Demi and joe were singing together with the other people in the camp and all through out the movie joe was looking for the girl with the voice which is demi/michie. I mean looking at it realistically, they sure practiced that dance before the final jam, so how come joe didn't found out that demi was the girl with the voice? I grew up knowing that Disney is all about dreaming, believing and reaching for your goals. I grew up knowing that Disney has magic, a kind of magic that will shine through everything. But I think Disney became too commercialized. The people in Disney, in my own opinion, created this movie to sell and earn millions. They didn't really do this movie because they want to flick 'magic' and bring joy to kids and kids at heart. It's sad but it's true.
BRING THE OLD Disney BACK!
